Huron-Kinloss Beach Fire Permit Info

Planning a Beach Fire in Huron-Kinloss? Here’s what you need to know:

Beach fires are a great way to cook or stay warm by the lake—but they do require a permit and must follow specific safety regulations:

Permits are available to Township property owners or tenants only

Fires must be in approved pits (dug into sand, stone/masonry rings, or pre-made containers)

Fires must not exceed 1m x 1m x 1m

No fires when winds exceed 16 km/h

Firewood only – no leaves or prohibited materials

Keep at least 3m away from buildings, dry grass, or vegetation

Fires must be supervised by an adult at all times

Have water, sand, or a fire extinguisher on hand

Respect the beach—no fires on dunes or in pedestrian areas

Fully extinguish fires, clean up, and cover with sand when done

Let’s keep our beaches safe and enjoyable for everyone.

For more info or to apply for a permit, visit https://www.huronkinloss.com/.../fire.../open-air-burning/

Inclusive Playground at McPherson Park - Have Your Say, Fill Out the Survey

Take a look at what’s coming to MacPherson Park The updated concept design for the MacPherson Park Inclusive Playground is now available, and we’re sharing the detailed illustrations for the first time. Thanks to feedback from the community, the Accessibility Advisory Committee, and project partners, the design has been refined and is one step closer to construction. Before it’s finalized, we’re inviting residents to take a quick survey and share final thoughts on the design, shade options, and surrounding park features. Please note, the new playground surfacing will be 100% poured-in-place rubber for accessibility. Business Spotlight of the Week: Little Blue Coffee House

Being voted a Local Favourite in the Kincardine Municipality means more to me than I could put into words. The Little Blue House was created with the hope of building a space where people could slow down, connect, and feel at home, whether that’s over a delicious cup of coffee, a good book, a conversation, or simply a cozy place to spend part of their day.

What makes our business unique is the heart behind it. We are passionate about supporting local wherever we can. From locally roasted coffee and baked goods to products made by talented local artisans and small businesses. We wanted to create more than just a café or bookstore; we wanted to create a welcoming community space that feels warm, creative, and personal.

The support we’ve received from this community has been incredible. Every customer who walks through our doors, every kind word shared, and every person who chooses to support local businesses is part of what makes this possible. We are so grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community, and we’re excited to continue growing alongside it.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us and continues to support The Little Blue House. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
