From Tracey, posted earlier this week on her FB page:

Today, something happened at Treats & Tales that honestly left me feeling a little speechless — and very, very grateful.

A young lady and her friend came into my shop today and brought me a present. But the gift itself wasn’t even the most special part. ( but I know how these are very, very special for many kids today) She told me how special I am to her and that I was one of her favourites.

Those are the moments that remind me just how incredibly lucky I am to do what I do.

One of the things that makes me happiest is watching more and more young people come through the doors of Treats & Tales, carefully choosing a book or treat and using their allowance, birthday money, or other hard-earned money to buy something they genuinely want.

Knowing that I might be helping encourage a love of books, imagination, curiosity and reading in the next generation is something I don’t take for granted.

Sometimes you wonder if what you’re doing really makes a difference… and then a young person walks through your door, hands you a gift and tells you that you’re special. And suddenly, you realize just how much these little moments mean.

I feel incredibly humbled, incredibly grateful, and honestly… I think I might just be living in my dream job.

To that sweet young lady and her friend — thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made my day, and I will treasure your kindness more than you know.

This will be a forever memory

And to every young reader who has walked into Treats & Tales with their hard-earned money looking for their next adventure… thank you for letting me be a tiny part of your story.
