Get ready, set, bike! June is just around the corner, and that means it's bike month in Bruce County! We're partnering with Smart Commute to celebrate cycling and encourage everyone to ride - with the chance to win!

LThe Municipality of Kincardine is announcing the upcoming official launch of the new real-time beach safety signal at Station Beach. Following a testing and calibration period, the Smart Beach Light will become fully operational on June 12, 2026, providing beachgoers with current swimming condition information throughout the summer. The initiative is part of the Smart Beach program, which aims to improve waterfront safety through data, technology, and public education. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Station Beach to mark the official launch of the Smart Beach Light. Read more here

Kincardine is one of the few municipalities to have its very own official tartan. Registered in 1987 with the Scottish Tartans Society, its pattern is uniquely inspired by the blue waters of Lake Huron. You can spot this plaid painted on local fire hydrants, bunting, and flags throughout the downtown - and of course on the Pipe Band members!
